The sandbag station is located at the corner lot of Highway 24 and Green Valley Parkway, 1/3 mile east of Green Valley Road.

(POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY, KS – May 31, 2019) Pottawatomie County is offering a volunteer sandbag filling station. Starting Saturday, June 1, 2019, sand and bags will be available from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. daily while supply lasts.

The sandbag station is located at the corner lot of Highway 24 and Green Valley Parkway, 1/3 mile east of Green Valley Road. Residents in affected areas of Pottawatomie County may obtain 15 sandbags, and commercial properties may receive 25. Please be prepared to fill your own sandbags, however volunteers may be available for those who need assistance. Please bring proof of address.

Officials recommend these sandbags be used to temporarily block doors, garage doors and window wells. Building sandbag walls is not recommended. Sandbags should be used to delay small amounts of water while belongings are being removed. Sandbags do not keep standing or rising water out for an extended time and even with short term use, may require some kind of pump.
