Osborne Benjamin 'Ben' Berroth

Osborne Benjamin "Ben" Berroth, 36, of Clay Center, Kansas, formerly of Alma, Kansas, died Monday, September 9, 2019, at the Clay County Medical Center.

Ben was born on July 29, 1983, in Manhattan, Kansas, the son of Scott and Mina Erikson Berroth. He attended local schools and graduated from Wabaunsee High School in 2002. He then received his Associates Degree in Diesel Mechanics from North Central Kansas Technical College in Beloit.

Ben was a Equipment and Control Technician for Kinder-Morgan Pipeline Company since 2005. He was an electrician and mechanic. For a while he worked as a traveling diesel mechanic for Exline.

Ben was a member of 4-H and FFA in High School. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and their activities. He was an avid hunter and organized many yearly elk hunts in Colorado. He also enjoyed fishing and was an excellent outdoor cook either on the BBQ or Smoker. He was the local Boy Scout Troop treasurer and soon to be Leader. Ben was very meticulous and always strove for perfection. In his early teen years he was known for his cantaloupe and watermelon picking and later in life for his fence building.

Ben married Lacey Renee Remmenga on March 21, 2008, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She survives at their home.

Ben is also survived by his children; Hayden, Shaelynn and Ryan all of the home; his mother, Mina Anderson (Dennis), McFarland; his step-mother, Tess Berroth, Alma; his sister Brenda Havenstein (Jacob), Alma, his close friends Chris Torrey (Marcey), Alma, his step-siblings, Jason Anderson, Manhattan, Zachary Anderson, McFarland and Emily Estrada (Zach), Holton and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his dad, Scott Berroth.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, September 16, 2019, at St. John Lutheran Church in Alma, Kansas. Reverend Robert Grimm will be officiating. Burial will follow in Alma City Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Sunday, September 15, 2019, at the Church, from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm. They suggest memorial contributions to the Ben Berroth Memorial fund, and those may be sent in care of Campanella-Gentry Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.campanellafuneral.com.
