Jerome Patrick Werick

St. Marys—Jerome Patrick Werick, 38, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City.

Patrick was born August 18, 1983, at Topeka, the son of Kevin and Carol Ekman Werick. He graduated from St. Marys Academy in 2001. He and a friend biked across the country the year after graduation. Patrick did landscaping before he started school at Kansas State University at Manhattan. He earned a BS in 2009, with a major in journalism and a minor in creative writing.

Patrick was the Sales Manager for Roll Products in St. Marys. He was a member of Assumption Chapel. He formed the musical group Grand Celtic Music Tour and played at different venues the past four years. He was a bagpiper and penny whistler for nearly 20 years. Patrick was a great husband and father and his wife and children were the love of his life.

In February of 2011, Patrick and Amanda Perry were united in marriage at Assumption Chapel in St. Marys. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his seven children, Brendan, Grace, Anna, Brigid, Adelyn, Clare and Nellie; his parents, Kevin and Carol Werick; his seven siblings, Aliisa Lund, Jason Werick, Anne Olivo, Maria Bruno, Joseph Werick, Mirium Wilson, and Mary Carroll.
